This is a slightly more complicated situation than just social media because I acted as somewhat of an in-house graphic designer during my time working with this client as well… and managed a host of other things on the side… but I’ll start with social media. Essentially my client was running out of money and needed to compartmentalize, they cut my position and gave my duties to their fulltime operations manager. This was a little over a week ago. They have asked me to send over my materials… but I still haven’t been paid so I’m waiting for that to come through. For social media I was obviously managing and planning the posts, curating the account visually, writing copy, running promotions, doing hashtag research, etc. I also created graphic elements that contributed to the composition of the overall grid-view of the account. The operations manager has no visual sense, has botched a lot of the posts since I finished my job (partly due to my not having sent the content yet but they were also incredibly rookie mistakes that almost anyone could have sorted out on their own… in MS paint.)
