I work for an anesthesia consulting and staffing firm that has been around for about 10 years. It’s a small operation that is looking to grow, particularly through the use of social media and other pertinent digital marketing tools. I have a background in this area and volunteered to take on this effort. I already have a primary job that I perform for this company, so the social media management role will be a secondary job for which the company is willing to compensate me for. The challenge is how to develop a compensation package for this role. My bosses are open to different compensation strategies. One such compensation package involves awarding a percentage of a new contract resulting directly from my social media marketing efforts. But I’m unaware of what a fair percentage would be. Any other ideas? I have a dilemma I can’t wrap my head around and want some advice. I have a personal Instagram. Let’s call it JonDoe. It goes with my personal twitter/twitch/youtube. On it, I have mixed personal content and brand content as a streamer/youtuber. It’s all growing very well, and I have over 1k on insta, growing daily, but I want to rebrand my JonDoe account to my streamer brand, lets call it SillyGamerStuff and start posting more funny / on-brand content. I figured I’d just start a second account for JonDoe’s personal stuff, for family, friends, girlfriend, etc and run with the momentum on my main account, now named SillyGamerStuff (don’t eff with momentum, right?) My only hangup, is that I would basically lose all my personal history on my JonDoe -> now SillyGamerStuff. “lose” as in, all my personal stuff from before I started this online personality, from about 2 years back, so 5 years or so of history, would be buried under all the brand content.
