Good evening, I started my first-ever position as a social media manager for a local branch of a nationwide company 6 months ago. My background is in journalism, and I was hired mostly for my ability to create interesting content and bring a different perspective to the position. I am doing okay in the role (there are some home runs here and there when I come up with great videos), but I have to admit - I still am hopelessly confused about social media analytics (understanding what a good engagement rate is, etc) and how to create successful ads. I have a $1k a month budget to spend on social, but I’ve rarely used it because I don’t want to waste money creating bad ads! I’ve attended a few local seminars on social media marketing, but they mostly focus on the fluff stuff like “creating your brand” - stuff I already have a decent grasp on. Where I struggle is figuring out WHY certain posts are successful over others, and how to target audiences effectively. I have Hootsuite but their analytics tool is so-so. My company is willing to pay for training. Are there any in-depth courses out there that just dig into what certain metrics mean, how they relate, and how to create good ads? T
