(I’m not going to be super specific with details in case he sees this but lmk if you want more info) I’m 21/M and my relationship with my friend has been bugging me recently. We don’t live in the same state and have known each other for 7 months. Only ever met one time. But before meeting, we talked a lot and worked together long distance. More like I would work with him. (Not specific, I know. Intentionally keeping it that way.) Thing is, he only ever reaches out when he needs something. I didn’t realize until recently. He has this one way competition thing with me. When I said I can’t help him with his situation/goals, he stopped talking to me. It’s been almost a month since I haven’t heard anything back. We still follow each other on social media. Been feeling uneasy about the relationship. We met through social media and I put more effort into reaching out than he did. And when he reached out it was to ask me for something. Suddenly, he’s stopped talking to me and interacting with me on social media. Normally, I wouldn’t care. People are busy with their lives. The timing is just weird. I have a dilemma I can’t wrap my head around and want some advice. I have a personal Instagram. Let’s call it JonDoe. It goes with my personal twitter/twitch/youtube. On it, I have mixed personal content and brand content as a streamer/youtuber. It’s all growing very well, and I have over 1k on insta, growing daily, but I want to rebrand my JonDoe account to my streamer brand, lets call it SillyGamerStuff and start posting more funny / on-brand content. I figured I’d just start a second account for JonDoe’s personal stuff, for family, friends, girlfriend, etc and run with the momentum on my main account, now named SillyGamerStuff (don’t eff with momentum, right?) My only hangup, is that I would basically lose all my personal history on my JonDoe -> now SillyGamerStuff. “lose” as in, all my personal stuff from before I started this online personality, from about 2 years back, so 5 years or so of history, would be buried under all the brand content.
