Hi, I would like to share with you my little story, on one hand, to just do some catharsis and on the other hand to give you a heads-up in case it can prevent this from happening to you. Instead, I did it via Google authenticator This setup is done from the Facebook account, i.e. logged in I had around 10 days off during Christmas break. During that time, my old phone died and I got a new one In January, when I got back to work, I went to log in from my laptop at the office. The password was ok, but I was asked for the code sent to my phone as the second factor You guessed it! The code was sent to the old, dead and inaccessible phone. I have a dilemma I can’t wrap my head around and want some advice. I have a personal Instagram. Let’s call it JonDoe. It goes with my personal twitter/twitch/youtube. On it, I have mixed personal content and brand content as a streamer/youtuber. It’s all growing very well, and I have over 1k on insta, growing daily, but I want to rebrand my JonDoe account to my streamer brand, lets call it SillyGamerStuff and start posting more funny / on-brand content. I figured I’d just start a second account for JonDoe’s personal stuff, for family, friends, girlfriend, etc and run with the momentum on my main account, now named SillyGamerStuff (don’t eff with momentum, right?) My only hangup, is that I would basically lose all my personal history on my JonDoe -> now SillyGamerStuff. “lose” as in, all my personal stuff from before I started this online personality, from about 2 years back, so 5 years or so of history, would be buried under all the brand content.
