Hi everyone! Let me explain the situation. I’m using specific hashtags to make trending. I have gained 1.5k followers in 4 days from hashtags alone. I post pretty decent modelling shoots and am a girl. Nothing overly sexualised but definitely appealing to a niche market (white, redhead etc). Right now I’m sitting at about 3.1k followers with around 3,000 likes on each post. However, I get comments from the CREEPIEST men, and am also followed by creepy men. Ideally, I’d like to target photographers and beauty / fashion lovers. I was told not to worry about this at the moment as once I hit 10K followers things will change and brands will want to work with me. But I recently got into an argument with my boyfriend saying only creepy men follow me and brands will notice this and not want to work with me. I am really conflicted. It’s not like I wanted to appeal to a creepy men market, it’s just what is happening. Am I doing something wrong? I have a dilemma I can’t wrap my head around and want some advice. I have a personal Instagram. Let’s call it JonDoe. It goes with my personal twitter/twitch/youtube. On it, I have mixed personal content and brand content as a streamer/youtuber. It’s all growing very well, and I have over 1k on insta, growing daily, but I want to rebrand my JonDoe account to my streamer brand, lets call it SillyGamerStuff and start posting more funny / on-brand content. I figured I’d just start a second account for JonDoe’s personal stuff, for family, friends, girlfriend, etc and run with the momentum on my main account, now named SillyGamerStuff (don’t eff with momentum, right?) My only hangup, is that I would basically lose all my personal history on my JonDoe -> now SillyGamerStuff. “lose” as in, all my personal stuff from before I started this online personality, from about 2 years back, so 5 years or so of history, would be buried under all the brand content.
