Hey guys, so I followed a famous pro photographer on Instagram and personally on my profile I do post some photography post but they all shot on iPhone and just hobby. He suddenly followed me yesterday and I know that often the person he followed will post an insta story of screenshot of that photographer followed and then say some thankful words and then that photographer will repost that story on his instastory and everyone can see it, hence it’s like a way to gain more traffic for both sides. So I wonder should I do it? I not sure if this is more benefit for him or I will gain something too, I just shoot for hobby and don’t have a dedicated camera, if he reposted my thanksful insta story and then maybe some camera brand or person will kindly donate a cheap camera to me but how likely is this gonna happen? I not a follower freak and I don’t follow much people too, is this gonna benefit me or more likely gonna benefit him because he has a brand and I don’t have yet? I have a dilemma I can’t wrap my head around and want some advice. I have a personal Instagram. Let’s call it JonDoe. It goes with my personal twitter/twitch/youtube. On it, I have mixed personal content and brand content as a streamer/youtuber. It’s all growing very well, and I have over 1k on insta, growing daily, but I want to rebrand my JonDoe account to my streamer brand, lets call it SillyGamerStuff and start posting more funny / on-brand content. I figured I’d just start a second account for JonDoe’s personal stuff, for family, friends, girlfriend, etc and run with the momentum on my main account, now named SillyGamerStuff (don’t eff with momentum, right?) My only hangup, is that I would basically lose all my personal history on my JonDoe -> now SillyGamerStuff. “lose” as in, all my personal stuff from before I started this online personality, from about 2 years back, so 5 years or so of history, would be buried under all the brand content.
