One of my clients just rebranded and through the process of updating their Facebook page, the name change request was originally denied. The reason was that the new name was too different from the old name. This is the first time this has happened to me during a page name change. I appealed and explained they are undergoing a brand refresh with a link to their new website and press release. All the updated imagery and info echoes the new name. Will this appeal go through and typically how long will it take? During this same process I was updating their company Twitter and changed the account “birthday” to the company founding date. As such, the account immediately got suspended because it thought we were younger than the age limit. I sent an appeal with a photo of my driver’s license. How long should this process take for the account to be re-activated? I have a dilemma I can’t wrap my head around and want some advice. I have a personal Instagram. Let’s call it JonDoe. It goes with my personal twitter/twitch/youtube. On it, I have mixed personal content and brand content as a streamer/youtuber. It’s all growing very well, and I have over 1k on insta, growing daily, but I want to rebrand my JonDoe account to my streamer brand, lets call it SillyGamerStuff and start posting more funny / on-brand content. I figured I’d just start a second account for JonDoe’s personal stuff, for family, friends, girlfriend, etc and run with the momentum on my main account, now named SillyGamerStuff (don’t eff with momentum, right?) My only hangup, is that I would basically lose all my personal history on my JonDoe -> now SillyGamerStuff. “lose” as in, all my personal stuff from before I started this online personality, from about 2 years back, so 5 years or so of history, would be buried under all the brand content.
