What is the standard now for reposting images from other accounts? yesterday I posted a screenshot image of a cool sports team in my industry to my business Insta page. We used the caption ‘really cool new car from XYZ team’ and then wrote 'photo credit’ and tagged them and all their sponsors immediately afterwards so it was clear who the photo belonged to and came from. We’ve had a private message from the team asking we only repost images via the 'repost function’ and that images 'should not be posted natively’. As far as I am aware there is no repost function within Instagram and we thought credit and tags would be more useful for them as it then appears in their 'tagged’ gallery page. I have a dilemma I can’t wrap my head around and want some advice. I have a personal Instagram. Let’s call it JonDoe. It goes with my personal twitter/twitch/youtube. On it, I have mixed personal content and brand content as a streamer/youtuber. It’s all growing very well, and I have over 1k on insta, growing daily, but I want to rebrand my JonDoe account to my streamer brand, lets call it SillyGamerStuff and start posting more funny / on-brand content. I figured I’d just start a second account for JonDoe’s personal stuff, for family, friends, girlfriend, etc and run with the momentum on my main account, now named SillyGamerStuff (don’t eff with momentum, right?) My only hangup, is that I would basically lose all my personal history on my JonDoe -> now SillyGamerStuff. “lose” as in, all my personal stuff from before I started this online personality, from about 2 years back, so 5 years or so of history, would be buried under all the brand content.
