So for the past half year I have been running social media/digital content for a midwest based pizza chain. This chain was extremly popular when it first started- in 1978. Now it is known as “mall pizza”, the fan base has slowly dwindled away, and the folks running the show are clueless. The president and marketing head (my boss) inherited the company from their wealthy father. They do not believe their chain is dying, they refuse to accept it is just average pizza, and their just very bull headed. Neither of them live in the state where the chain operates; almost all my marketing meetings are done over skype. We have the largest following on Facebook, of the four mediums we are on. (Roughly 62,000 followers) We are not verified on any media, and our following on Twitter has sat at 800 since I started working. Here is our demographic: 54% are 35+ 21% are 21-28 15% under 18 64% are female I am a 25 year old male. I have a lot of trouble reaching our specified target. (35+F) I’ve tried to stick with trending memes, more digital videos, and trying to break down this wall between corporation and customer. This does not resonate well with the target. I have a dilemma I can’t wrap my head around and want some advice. I have a personal Instagram. Let’s call it JonDoe. It goes with my personal twitter/twitch/youtube. On it, I have mixed personal content and brand content as a streamer/youtuber. It’s all growing very well, and I have over 1k on insta, growing daily, but I want to rebrand my JonDoe account to my streamer brand, lets call it SillyGamerStuff and start posting more funny / on-brand content. I figured I’d just start a second account for JonDoe’s personal stuff, for family, friends, girlfriend, etc and run with the momentum on my main account, now named SillyGamerStuff (don’t eff with momentum, right?) My only hangup, is that I would basically lose all my personal history on my JonDoe -> now SillyGamerStuff. “lose” as in, all my personal stuff from before I started this online personality, from about 2 years back, so 5 years or so of history, would be buried under all the brand content.
