So 19 june 2019 my facebook account ( has personal page and business page) got locked because I logged in a hotel that had weird VPN settings (used their internet on the desktop provided due to no battery on my phone) – seems to be worst decision I’ve ever made social media related. Past two months haven’t been able to log in , says confirm your identity by sending proof of ID (have done so) or by logging in aother computer — I tried logging in from the computer at the hotel but due to the weird VPN they use there it seems that facebook doesnt recognise it ( i guess different IP address) … it asks me to confirm with a code but it wont send it to me. “Someone May Have Logged In To Your Account In order to keep your information secure, we’ve locked your account. Before we can unlock it, please verify your identity and change your password. Your account will remain hidden until you complete this process. Choose a security check How do you want to confirm your identity? I have a dilemma I can’t wrap my head around and want some advice. I have a personal Instagram. Let’s call it JonDoe. It goes with my personal twitter/twitch/youtube. On it, I have mixed personal content and brand content as a streamer/youtuber. It’s all growing very well, and I have over 1k on insta, growing daily, but I want to rebrand my JonDoe account to my streamer brand, lets call it SillyGamerStuff and start posting more funny / on-brand content. I figured I’d just start a second account for JonDoe’s personal stuff, for family, friends, girlfriend, etc and run with the momentum on my main account, now named SillyGamerStuff (don’t eff with momentum, right?) My only hangup, is that I would basically lose all my personal history on my JonDoe -> now SillyGamerStuff. “lose” as in, all my personal stuff from before I started this online personality, from about 2 years back, so 5 years or so of history, would be buried under all the brand content.
