I’m pretty new to social media management. I’ve always had great engagement and content on my personal profiles and I managed social media for a law firm as part of my job as a client relations manager, but it’s been a few years. A friend of mine asked me if I would be interested in managing her Twitter. (We are both independent escorts and our industry relies heavily on social media for branding, marketing and advertising.) She’s been paying another person to manage it but that person was supposed to be unavailable for a couple months for medical reasons. My friend was kind of looking for an excuse to phase out the existing SM manager because her account has been a little stagnant and she likes what I’m doing with my own stuff. Now the old social media manager had a change of circumstances and is not going to be out of commission. So my friend is trying to keep us both on to manage the account, and I’m not crazy about that idea. Here’s why: 1) existing SM manager is big on what I consider to be spammy practices such as retweeting every retweet with a comment attached. So friend’s TL is cluttered with retweets of her retweets. She also RTs the account’s own tweets within 20-60

I have a dilemma I can’t wrap my head around and want some advice. I have a personal Instagram. Let’s call it JonDoe. It goes with my personal twitter/twitch/youtube. On it, I have mixed personal content and brand content as a streamer/youtuber. It’s all growing very well, and I have over 1k on insta, growing daily, but I want to rebrand my JonDoe account to my streamer brand, lets call it SillyGamerStuff and start posting more funny / on-brand content. I figured I’d just start a second account for JonDoe’s personal stuff, for family, friends, girlfriend, etc and run with the momentum on my main account, now named SillyGamerStuff (don’t eff with momentum, right?) My only hangup, is that I would basically lose all my personal history on my JonDoe -> now SillyGamerStuff. “lose” as in, all my personal stuff from before I started this online personality, from about 2 years back, so 5 years or so of history, would be buried under all the brand content.
