This is really frustrating me because I use my social media to share my artwork and potentially try to sell it. In 2017 I started majorly using my Instagram for the first time. I took interesting photos of my art, myself and nature from my hikes, and started using the hashtags for the first time, using the maximum 30 each time, with relevant hashtags. My instagram exploded quickly. I was getting minimum 100 to 200 likes on every single thing I posted, people were messaging me asking for prints of my artwork, I was having lots of great conversations with other artists, and in general just having a really good time using Insta. I started using Facebook more intentionally about a year ago and used to get at least 50 likes on pretty much everything I posted and 100+ on pictures of art and selfies. On both of these platforms now, I am lucky to break 50 likes. My content hasn’t changed, in my opinion my art has improved over the last year. When I check the hashtag pages on Insta, my stuff is showing up in the Recent page but with about 3,000 followers and all those hashtags, it blows my mind that the only way I can get 100 likes on anything anymore is by sponsoring it (paying money f

I have a dilemma I can’t wrap my head around and want some advice. I have a personal Instagram. Let’s call it JonDoe. It goes with my personal twitter/twitch/youtube. On it, I have mixed personal content and brand content as a streamer/youtuber. It’s all growing very well, and I have over 1k on insta, growing daily, but I want to rebrand my JonDoe account to my streamer brand, lets call it SillyGamerStuff and start posting more funny / on-brand content. I figured I’d just start a second account for JonDoe’s personal stuff, for family, friends, girlfriend, etc and run with the momentum on my main account, now named SillyGamerStuff (don’t eff with momentum, right?) My only hangup, is that I would basically lose all my personal history on my JonDoe -> now SillyGamerStuff. “lose” as in, all my personal stuff from before I started this online personality, from about 2 years back, so 5 years or so of history, would be buried under all the brand content.
